OfferBook ("we", "us", "our") provides an NCAA basketball NIL and recruiting marketplace. This Privacy Policy explains what personal information we collect, how we use it, and your rights.
1. Information We Collect
We collect information you provide directly, information generated when you use the Service, and information from third-party integrations.
A. Information you provide
Account: name, email, password (hashed), role (athlete / school / agent), phone (optional).
Athlete profile: position, height, weight, class year, eligibility, hometown, high school, GPA, statistics, awards, photo, social handles, roster URLs.
School profile: school name, conference, contact staff, budget details (private to the school), recruiting board.
Content you upload: profile photos, highlight videos, contract documents, notes.
Communications: messages, offers, counters, contract terms exchanged with other users.
Financial tracking: NIL agreements, payment tracking data, budget/savings goals (Financial Hub) — this data is private to the athlete unless explicitly shared.
B. Automatically collected information
Device and browser data, IP address, referring URLs.
Usage data: pages viewed, features used, timestamps.
Cookies and similar technologies used to authenticate sessions and remember preferences.
C. Third-party information
Public roster and profile pages that you provide during onboarding (fetched by AI extraction).
Uploaded screenshots you provide.
Payment processors (Stripe) if you use paid features — we do not store card numbers.
Email service (Resend) — used to send transactional email notifications.
Cloud storage (Cloudflare R2) — used to store documents and photos.
2. How We Use Your Information
Operate, maintain, and improve the Service.
Create and manage your account.
Display athlete profiles to schools/agents you interact with, and vice versa.
Generate AI-powered valuations, extractions, and content recommendations.
Facilitate payments for premium features via Stripe.
Detect and prevent fraud and abuse.
Respond to legal process or protect the rights, property, and safety of users.
3. AI Processing
Certain data you provide (roster URLs, screenshots, profile fields, valuation inputs) is sent to third-party AI providers to power features like KYP verification, NIL valuation, and screenshot extraction. We do not sell your data to AI providers, and we work only with providers that offer commercial data handling terms (i.e. your data is not used to train their public models).
4. How We Share Information
With other users when you make your profile visible, express interest, receive an offer, or send/receive a message.
With service providers who process data on our behalf (AI, email, storage, payments, analytics) under confidentiality obligations.
To comply with legal obligations (subpoena, court order).
In connection with a merger, acquisition, or sale of our business (users will be notified).
With your explicit consent, for any other purpose.
We do NOT sell your personal information to third parties.
5. Your Rights and Choices
Depending on your jurisdiction (e.g. California CCPA, EU GDPR), you may have the right to:
Access the personal information we hold about you.
Correct inaccuracies.
Delete your account and associated data (subject to legal retention).
Object to or restrict certain processing.
Export your data in a portable format.
Opt out of marketing/promotional emails at any time via the Preferences page. Transactional emails (offer received, security notifications) may still be sent.
To exercise these rights, email privacy@offerbook.app with your request. We will respond within 30 days.
6. Children's Privacy
OfferBook is not intended for children under 13. If you are between 13 and 18, you must have a parent or legal guardian's permission to use the Service. If we learn that we have collected data from a child under 13 without verifiable parental consent, we will delete it.
7. Data Retention
We retain personal information as long as your account is active or as needed to provide the Service. After you delete your account, we may retain certain records (audit logs, closed transactions, tax records) for as long as required by law.
8. Security
We use industry-standard technical and organizational safeguards (encryption in transit, hashed passwords, access controls). No system is completely secure, and we cannot guarantee absolute security. Report suspected security issues to security@offerbook.app.
9. International Users
OfferBook is operated in the United States. If you access the Service from outside the US, you consent to the transfer and processing of your data in the US.
10. Changes to This Policy
We may update this Policy from time to time. We will notify you of material changes via email or in-app notice. The "Last updated" date at the top reflects the most recent version.
